The end of a decade makes us think about all the things that we have done in the last ten years, and for us at White Horse Boats the last few years have been amazing . When the original owners retired in 2015 we took over the running of White Horse Boats. All the boats were replaced and painted with our green livery. We designed a new logo based on the Alton Barnes chalk horse and relaunched the company with an online booking system and website. We created great value holidays with smart boats, and constantly watch and adjust our prices to make sure we are competitive and cheaper than any like-for-like boats on the K&A.

Moonfleet, Moonstruck and Moonshine

In 2015 we had just a fleet of three; Moonraker, Moonshine and Moonfleet. Starting either Monday or Friday our holidays and short breaks range from 3 days to 2 weeks. Weekend breaks are popular but if you are flexible with work then mid-week breaks give you an extra night aboard for a similar price. Soon fully booked in 2016 and so we expanded the business to include another 57 ft holiday boat Moonstruck, and introduced a dayhire boat named Moonlighting. This means we can also offer self-drive day trips on our littlest narrowboat, absolutely ideal for learning to cruise and seeing if you’d like a holiday afloat. From £135 for 10 people, this really is a great way to get a feel for canal life and boating. It also makes a great family day out or a celebration of a special occasion.

We have been delighted to welcome aboard both new and returning customers. It is lovely to greet everyone aboard for a holiday afloat, especially if they have flown across the world to spend time cruising the Vales of Pewsey in a White Horse Boat. We regularly see visitors from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Guernsey, Jersey, Sweden and the Netherlands. This year we welcomed our first visitors from America too. We love hearing about your travels and adventures.

So what will 2020 bring? Luckily canal life is far form the politics of the news and we really are all about getting away from it all to relax and unwind in the beautiful countryside through Wiltshire. All our holiday boats have just been repainted and so looking great, we pride ourselves on owning the shiniest and cleanest fleet on the canal. We start cruising again on Valentines day, but of course are taking bookings online and on the office. If you would like to plan something special for 2020, and adventure with friends, a family holiday or a treat for your parents then perhaps a canal holiday would be the perfect way to start making memories int eh new decade.

Happy New Year!
