At last the sun is out and the snow has nearly all gone. I have seen crocus, daffodils and snowdrops heralding the arrival of spring which means that’s its nearly time for our boats to be re-commissioned from their winter break and get back to holidaying along the canal!

Over the winter life on the canal is all about waiting for better weather. It is difficult to cruise when the canal is frozen and most boats stay near the town and cities. When the sun warms us the desire to be out in the countryside returns and the narrowboats and barges once again cruise for pleasure along our canals.

White Horse Boats are back in operation from the 15th of March this year with many holidays already booked, and we are looking forward to the holiday season of 2019. We have availability ono all our boats and would be delighted to welcome you aboard Moonraker, Moonstruck, Moonfleet or Moonshine on a holiday, or aboard MOONLIGHTING is you fancy a day trip with friends and family.

Come and visit the canal and see our boats at Devizes Wharf. They are moored behind the Wharf Theatre and the Wharf Centre near Devizes town centre. From here you can enjoy walk down to see the Caen Hill Lock Flight and marvel at this feat of victorian engineering, then return to the wharf for a lovely breakfast or tea and cake at the Wharf Cafe.

Our turnaround days are Mondays and Fridays. When the boats return in the morning, we throughly clean them and empty the waste tanks, refill the fuel tanks and perform the engine and safety checks. The next hirers arrive at 2pm and land their belongings and receive training.

If you would like to visit the boats just come and find us at the Wharf between 11am and 1pm on Mondays and Fridays and we will be delighted to show you aboard.
