Swans are so majestic. They mate for life and are protected by the Queen. Thank you Stacy Hawkins for letting us share your beautiful photo, I really love this of Crofton Beam Engines from the water.

Crofton lies at the summit of our little stretch of the Kennet and Avon canal. It houses the Victorian beam engines that use steam power to pump the water to the summit and allow the canal to work. Although mostly of historical interest the beam engines still have steaming days when you can see them in action, and occasionally they are called upon to pump the water if the two modern systems are undergoing maintenance!
