We are delighted that whilst our boats are hibernating this winter, Devizes Wharf is under going a little beauty treatment and renovations around the Wharf Centre are in progress. Here is Moonshine in the sunshine next to the newly finished landing area next to the Wharf Theatre. Smart and smooth, allowing easy access to the boats. Okay, so it’s not the most exciting renovation in the history of make-overs, but it continues the development of the Wharf Centre, with the Canal Museum, Boats trips, White Horse Boats Holiday and Dayhire, The Wharf Theatre and Wharf Cafe, as well as the Canal walk to the spectacular Caen Hill Lock Flight. Devizes Wharf is a great tourist attraction many people come to visit and spend time in this area. Indeed, many localsĀ  come to enjoy a little time by the relative peace of the canal and enjoy lunch watching the boats. Yesterday was a lovely sunny day which brings out the dog walkers, runners and and cyclists, and we are lucky to have the canal which has been looked after and cared for by Wiltshire Council and the Canal and Rivers Trust, maintaining the locks, the towpaths and the canal itself. When the renovations are complete I will update with new photos, ore perhaps you would like to take a look for yourself and be tempted aboard for a day out or a holiday afloat. We would be delighted to show you the ropes!
